Mother Teresa Success Story (Life Story)

Mother Teresa’s father died mysteriously when she was 8. some suspect he was murdered by political enemies. As a result, Teresa grew very close to her mother. Her mother was a devout Catholic who taught her the importance of charity by age of 12, Teresa has decided to devote her life to religion. teresa joined an order of sisters to education and spent 20 years teaching in relative comfort. Life of Teresa totally changed when she got what she described as “a call within a call” which compelled her to leave the convent and live amongst the poorest of the poor. As Mother Teresa said:

“The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty.”

Her first year in Calcutta slums was very challenging. with no income or plan, she had to beg for food alongside those she was trying to help and got pelted with rocks for her religious beliefs. During this difficult and challenging time, Teresa considered returning home, but she was determined to carry on.

Her reputation began to grow as she opened hospices for orphans and the dying. She became known for her sacrifice, fearlessness, and tenacity. Like when she showed up at the mayor of San Francisco’s house in the middle of the night, asking to turn a vacant building into a homeless shelter.
The mayor promised to look it in the morning. After being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, she insisted the traditional banquet be canceled so the money should be used to help the poor. Health concerns like pneumonia, malaria and heart disease never slowed her down. She was determined about her mission. The mission to help the poor and needy. Teresa continued working and advocating for the world’s poorest until her death in 1997. Her missionary of charity has grown from 13 sisters to over 5000 serving in more than 130 countries. To this day, mother Teresa endured as a
symbol of love and humanity.

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
